- Souls are fractcal. They can be divided into three parts - memory, emotion, and essence.
- Souls contain tethers.
* The most important tether being a soul to its body through the blood. This is why it is essential for a patient to be asleep and unaware while a water healer/magical healer is working through the body to aid its healing, the souls can become intertwined, forming a new tether.
* Vampirism is a combination of a virus, afflicting the physical form, and a soul tether, creating a thrall.
* Magic of the soul tethers to the body through the blood, but magic in Rembrant also requires a soul to be tethered, now, through an external source. a.k.a. the Master Crystal.
- Souls can walk outside their physical form with the proper amount of training - a technique that was developed in Advant by monks who, through meditation, became aware of the tether to their physical forms.
- A soul may take a form at will while astral projecting - otherwise, it fills the vessel it contains.
- Astral projected souls, while able to see and communicate with one another, cannot physically interact with each other, nor their physical surroundings.
- There are three kinds of souls: Divine Souls, Demi-Souls, and Mortal Souls.
* Divine Souls can be reincarnated in whole - they simply need a vessel to fill for their physical existence.
* Demi-Souls can be reincarnated in part - they are reborn into a similar, if not exact, replica of their former physical self, but only the essence. Memories and emotions are reset entirely.
* Mortal Souls are untethered upon death and make pilgrimage to the Underrealm.
---
Special notes: The Underrealm cannot be explained in physical terms, but a mortal soul, while dead, may interpret the world around them as 'physical' in relation to the essence compromising their soul. I.E. "Heaven" and "Hell" are entirely subjective to the soul existing within the Underrealm.
Also of special note is that the soul when untethered has an easier passage across the Veil when the body has been buried, placing the former "anchor" away from the soul and allowing it to find its way.
