VampyrVixen: The cells of Valanice were made of cemented stone that stacked upon each other neatly lined and parallel to the cells. Covered in grim and moss from age and wear, it was clear that it started to be come corrosive and chip from it’s original place. The smell was that of dirty upon the faces of it occupants. The rusted cells filled with a variety of non-humans that sulked in their loss of their mission, to show their rebellion to be validated by the empire only to end up in this place. In a cell with no one but herself a small fae sat calmly as if she was meditating. In her gentle state, She would be interrupted by the sound of clanking boots upon, the kinkling of metal that echoed throughout the dungeon. A woman with hair silk black ribbons that were braiding to the side. She was in a green dress, too little be a noble’s. The woman’s powder blue eyes gazed upon the fae that sat behind the bar. Her heels make way to the door, looking into her. She smiled with her pink plump lips. “I remember you... you were the one that led the rebellion, weren’t you?” She said with genuine admiration for her efforts. She placed a hand tender upon the bar of the door. “You know, there’s a lot of people that looked up to you for that. The little girls that watched with their mother’s and the ones that sit in here for the same reason... You gave a lot of people hope.”
Aeternita: The delicate looking creature in the cell let out a soft breath, her eyes opening to reveal their bright amythst shine. Though her gaze doesn't go to the stranger outside her cell...they lift to a small hole in her cell wall, revealing a tiny crack of blue sky, her only connection to the freedom taken from her. "...I'm afraid you're mistaken Miss." Her fragile looking wings are limp against her back, as she speaks in such a soft voice it could almost be called a whisper. "...I'm no leader." Her knees pull up into her chest, her arms embracing her legs as she curls up, sitting on her cot. "...Rebellion, if only something like that could really come to fruition and not just be the dream of one destined to...to this." Finally she turned her eyes towards the woman, her head tilted slightly as she gives her a curious once over. "But, if hope does exist outside these walls...then I suppose there's always a chance that one day things will be as they should." She offers a gentle smile, that fades almost as quickly as it came.
VampyrVixen: “I don’t think I am mistaken, not with the fire you have in your eyes. Even if you aren’t the one I saw, you do hold some desire to be freed from her. There is hope out there, and I know it resonates with you.” She takes a small breath, running her hand along the bar as she speak. Her eyes that appear like a cloudy sky peer into her. “You may not be a leader, but you can be. There are people, people like me, that want a rebellion. I’m not the only one that feels that way....” She sighs. “The empire took the one’s I love away from my grasp.” She couldn’t help but start to tear up a little, though she actively tried to keep her emotions back. Tension was clear upon her shoulders. She tried to bring a force a smile upon her lips even though it ended up back to a frown. “I need help in this. I need people that have that fire that is in your eyes. The speck of hope there is...” Her other hand soon brought up to reveal a pair of keys that clink and jiggle against each other. “Would you like to help me in this?”
Aeternita: Her heart went out to the woman, it truly did, just like it went out to everyone in Rembrant who has suffered at the hands of the Empire and her hand lightly found itself over her chest. Hearing the jingle of the keys however, caused her wings to twitch slightly, and her brow quirked with interest. "..Just who are you?" She slid off of the cot and approached the bars, stepping towards her with some amount of grace and an aura of someone who once was something more than what she is now. Despite her posture she wore the tattered cloths of a slave, her normally pristine skin splotched with spots of dirt and bruises. She stands now right up against the bars, her eyes glued on the strangers as if trying to read her mind. "My options are limited as you can see, so whether this is real, or some cruel trick, I think I'll have to take you up on your generous offer." A coy grin curled her soft lips. "Let's see where this goes..."
VampyrVixen: The woman’s features soon came into play. She was a beautiful woman with a slight porcelain tone that covered her form entirely like a sheer veil. Her braid was messy with flyaways and hairs poking out as there was a struggle in her. Her lips curl happily as she sees the fae moving closer to her. She noted the grime upon her body. Verona’s dress looked a bit tattered, but still with some silk upon it. The cotton finers at the bottom seemed ripped, torn, and dirty. She met the woman’s gaze with her own radiant one. Friendly, as if she was a celestial sent to help the land below. “Call me Xena.” She said, her eyes drifting to the hefty lock that is parallel to her waist. “I need folk who want this, that want a different future for themselves and their children. That is all. I’m a big afraid to stand up myself... but with others, others with that fire you have. I think we can do it. That we can make the empire have second thoughts, you know?” Her posture remained with prestige as her hands touched the tarished metal. The key soon made it’s way in the lock, and with a click, it fell to the straw covered ground with a subtle bang. The creaky down was opened by her a joyful look on her face. She looked back to the other prisoners that eyed the two, soon moving towards them, “Allies are needed...” She soon going to remove each and everyone, Orcs, elves, and dwarves stepping out of the cells. She turns to meet the fae. “I will ask yours later... the Guardsmen upstairs won’t be asleep forever.”
Aeternita: "Xena.." She repeated softly, making sure to remember the name of her savior. She watches her with a calm resolve as she talks up her need for like minded beings...she sounds like she's speaking words that came directly from Nita's own mind. As the lock hit the straw, her lips turned into a hopeful smile. This is the push she needed, evidence that she wasn't alone in her fight for change. The gate swung open slowly with the cringing sound of metal against metal. She then stood in the open frame of the cell door and watched as the woman freed all of the prisoners. She could only wonder where this woman came from...but now wasn't the time for questions. She raised her now confident gaze to the heroine before her and grinned coyly, her fingers curling into a tight fist. "Come now then...Let us change the world."
VampyrVixen: “The world is much need of some sort of change.. We need them to be able to look at us...” She turned to those behind her, a hopeful smile upon her lips. “All of us, and show them we aren’t just objects to be tossed to the side. We’re mortals. Thoughts, emotions, and opinions... We all have them no matter what they may be.” The gleam in her eyes at she spoke. She was passionate, and she didn’t wish to wait any longer for this mutual dream to happen. It seem those around her were riled up and ready... just as the Empress wanted. She wasn’t on good terms with the Empress at the moment, but she would be a fool to step out of it all now simply to disobey the Empress. She soon led the non-humans and her new ‘friend’ to the stone steps that had muddied straw on it. The only sound that distinguished was the click of her boot step. She smiled happily, for things were going well. “What we need to do is draw people in for our cause, we can’t do this alone. We need support...” She would bring a hand to her chin before acting like she had some amazing idea, “What better way to draw people in than to give a speech? One with diplomacy... one the people can relate to.” The woman would say with confidence. There were some nods among them, but ultimately some seemed withdrawn at the mention of the idea.
Aeternita: Nita nodded in agreement. "What the people need is hope. A showing that they arn't alone, that people will fight for justice against the Empire." She stepped next to Xena. Her silvery wings rose slightly as she spoke to the group, impassioned by the people before her and their shared suffering. "I believe in a world united, one where everyone is free to live the lives they deserve to live." She takes a step towards the starring mix of elves, orcs, dwarves and other races deemed lesser by the Empire. "Compliance isn't an option any more..." Her voice grows more powerful as she speaks, her hands more animated, her facial expression more stern. "I've seen villages entirely decimated by the Empire...Men, women, children slaughtered, simply as a show of dominance." Her fists clench into tight balls as her shimmering eyes begin to well up. "I'm not standing for it anymore! And neither should any of you." Her voice cracks a little with her emotion, her limbs trembling with the swelling fire rising up in her. "What I'm suggesting isn't easy...or safe. But without support we're doomed to live as lesser 'things' forever...We need to be the catalyst to bring about the world I know we could all share in together. After we leave this place..." She hesitates a moment to consider her words. "...all I ask from you is to spread the word that, those who arn't human...deserve better, and if they want it, they just need to take the stand with us. Don't live your lives in fear any longer. Together we can be unstoppable." Whether that was true or not, she spoke it like she believed through her very soul. She then turned to her rescuer. "Come with me...help me bring hope back to those who forgot their power." She took the lovely womans hands in her own, Nita's soft pleading eyes locked on hers, behind small tear stained cheeks. "...please."
VampyrVixen: Quickly making there way past sleeping, lazy, and drunk guards, Verona would turn back to the small fae, keeping her pace as they soon are to flow outside in Valanice. “Your words flow beautifully... I was right to find you. I... I may not go through the same discrimination as you... any of you really. But I think we all have something that has burned us deeply to our cores.. whether the empire has ripped apart our families, or simply killed them off... She is right, if we don’t stand who will?...” She peered now out the windowframe of the wooden dungeon door. “Let’s be heard... Let’s take it to the streets, there’s a fountain toward the central of town... we can end it there.” The woman smiles gently to the rest as she gives a finally look to the rest. The group seemed wired and ready for anything. Verona soon allowed the afternoon sunrays to fall upon those whom were wrapped up in the jail for how long? Doesn’t matter. She felt the heat hit her own olive face as her powder blue eyes noticed that they had a ways to go before they reached where they could easily protest for attention. She led them through the town until they reached a busy market area, people to busy to noticed that non-humans were passing through. Verona’s eyes soon met a wooden stage for an auctioneer spewing on about the paintings up there. “Do you think we could make it up there?” Verona pointed, showing the small fae.
Aeternita: She walked carefully, but swiftly. Fortunately she was only wearing thin sandals so her footfalls were nearly silent. Her light skin reddened lightly as the woman praised her. She tilted her head slightly to the side, her long hair cascading over her shoulder as she gratefully smiled. "...we all suffer under the Empires rule. Humans, Elves...it doesn't matter." She added reassuring her that just because she's human doesn't make her right to stand up against the brutality any less valid. "...I can't even begin to repay you for helping me now. I promise I'll find a way to repay my debt." They approach the door and she stops just behind the brave woman, listening to her plan to reach a proper venue to speak. She followed, her wings spread proudly off of her back, hoping to get the attention of those mingling about the city streets. As they approached the stage Nita gave Xena a warm confident smile, her hand resting on her shoulder before she walked up the stage steps, knowing full well all activities will come to an apprupt halt just from her presence being there. She approached center stage, kindly sweeping her arm in a gesture to the auctioneer to step aside and unsure of what to do or say he awkwardly scurries aside. She nods her head thankfully to the poor befuddled man, before proudly stepping to the middle of the stage, her gaze sweeping over the crowd below. From where she stands the warm sun beams down behind her, light catching off her bright silver, almost metalic wings, their shimmer casting a halo of reflected sunlight behind her. She then took a deep calming breath before her lips parted...
VampyrVixen: Verona soon followed her up to the stage, Her crimson dress whipping itself against the wooden steps as she makes her way. She holds her gown up so that she may have a clear step. Click, Clunk, clink goes her heels, silencing the crowd if they already weren’t from the factor of the sight of a fae that drew their attention. Her thick raven hair whipped across her back as she soon joined Nita upon there, aiding the Auctioneer off. She allowed a small sigh to be released from her lips as she soon is shoulder to shoulder with Nita. A delicate hand drapes Nita’s back. “You can do this...” She whispered to the fae. Her taunt jaw turned towards the crowd that seem to accumulate more as their curiousity grew. The prisoners also were among them. “People of Valanice... Even as racial tensions seem to not exist here, they still live for whatever reason it may be. Valanice has always been a proud and happy city, but nothing is ever as it seems. Even being human myself, I have seen the treacherous acts of the Empire upon it’s own people, and the injustice again Non-humans... I can stand and speak for them for hours... but I rather they speak for themseves...” Her voice is filled with passion and yet it was distressed. Speaking from the heart, she was. She pursed her lips, and soon nods to Nita to take her place upon the stand. She now stands tall with a full audience infront of the two. “It’s all going to plan my Empress...” She thought to herself, a small curl of her lips showed. She looked out, knowing guards would become a problem if they stay in one area too long.
Aeternita: Nita stood there, her eyes passing over the crowd beneath her, humans, elves, dwarves, all gathered before her, waiting on her words. She took a calming breath her eyes closing a moment to calm her nerves, well aware Soldiers could come here any moment and drag her off.
"...Anthem..." She says addressing the cities populace. "...My name is Aeternita and I stand here now, looking out at all of these different faces." She smiles small, though it's a sad smile, one a mother may have trying to reassure a child who was just given bad news. "Your city is beautiful, unique in it's treatment of those of us considered not human..." Her expression grows more serious, fingers curling into fists as she continues on.
"But it's a farce, you're not equal, you're not a citizen like those of you who are of the race favored by the Empress. I come to you today as an escaped slave. One who was tortured and used simply because my eye color doesn't exist in the spectrum of human genetics...and because I have two extra appendages upon my back." Her wings flutter lightly, before she takes her hand and places it over her heart.
"I've seen villages turned to ash in the name of the Empire. And not warring cities, arming themselves against them in rebellion..But small villages of quiet people, just trying to live their lives in peace. Ended in the name of making an example." She sighs, trying to keep herself calm, her eyes closing momentarily as if in quiet prayer for those souls. "..But I'm not here to speak of the Empire's atrocities, or of the discrimination many of us face every day. Quite the opposite. I'm here to talk about hope. I'm here to tell all you souls who have suffered, lost, been betrayed by the people who are supposed to protect you...You're not alone, and you're not as weak as they make you feel. Complacency will change nothing, but coming together...we could mold the world into what it should be. A place where people aren't judged by the shape of their ears, or the tinge of their skin...The things we could accomplish together, all of us...We could all be so much stronger as a world. The strength of the Dwarves, the wisdom of the Elves, the ingenuity of Humans...Imagine a world where we all strived together, instead of being pulled apart."
Her voice is louder now, more passionate and confident. "I know I'm not the only one who feels this way and should you feel my words resonating with you, I ask only one thing of you. Reach your potential, strive for your happiness. Do not fall into what the Empire forces upon you. Together we can be anything and the Empire knows it. That's why in this city, they allow you all the freedom that no where else gets. It's because here, in this city...they fear your power, they know that if you so decided to turn against them, they couldn't stop you. Undertsand this..." She peers over her shoulder at Xena, before looking back over the crowd, she feels as though she's pushed her luck long enough here after all she's a wanted woman and she's out in plain sight.
"...I have hope, I very much wish for you all to someday feel that same hope in yourselves." She bows her head respectfully to all those who gave her the time before, retreating to the side of the stage.
