Esylana: The sun's rising couldn't be more spectacular then there on the frozen snows as its rays reached their golden fingers across the delicately glistening flakes that sparkled on the otherwise miserably cold, merciless ground. It had been almost a month since Esylana had packed her bags for the even longer trip, and set out on the trip to the far north, where the nation once-known as Elgardra had stood. It's past was varied, and, reciting from memory what she'd read in the library, told Vixen on the way there what she knew about it. How it was inhabited mostly by nomadic ice fishers and winter tribes, while there were two established settlements where people had managed to eek out a living amidst an otherwise inhospitable background. The snow had started to fall before they'd even reached the far distant shores of Valanice, and then there it was. The ocean was almost frozen over entirely, and in the deep of winter, it would finally do so, becoming a solid sheet of ice that stopped all boats and ferrys, but allowing horseback travel and dogsled teams to make the journey themselves. No one ever dared go on foot, or alone. To do so would be suicide. But they had taken one of the last ferrys of the season across, and now standing on the southern shore of Elgardra, Esylana was fiddling with her satchel, her hands shaking from the cold, even in the gloves she'd bought with the little bit of money she had on the way there. She was looking for a dogsled team, or a caravan that was headed to Glasia, the capitol of Elgardra, renowned for its hotsprings - the only natural phenomenon that allowed the city to survive and thrive as it did. She was momentarily distracted by some legionnaire soldiers who were also making their way there. Seasonal rotation, they would be spending winter there while the men already stationed there through summer and fall would be returning to the south, and a warmer winter. One of the soldiers rode by, not on a horse, but on a polar bear. Part of the polar bear calvary - another unique feature of living in Elgardra.
VampyrVixen: Zenra would stretch herself out, she hand going upwards feeling the popping sounds of knuckles. The light fluttering snow hitting her delicate skin cause her hand to retract. She shakes her head breathing out to see her hot breath become visible. Her face is covered with a hood and facial mask. "I don't b-believe I've b-been in such a dr-readful place." She knew she was exaggerating, but it was simply never like this back home. It would surely be worse for those whom could actually suffer from things like frost bite. She moves her eyes across the white blanket, seeing legionnaires herself. She lowers her head so that they would not even see her eyes now as open skin. Her hands are graciously cover with a old leather that would surely not work if she was alive. She lowers hee voice to Esylana. "I don't suppose we could simply take them out now." She chuckles warmly, trying to lighten the solemn mood of the icyland. "We'll likely have to continue on without help of another. Even if they know this land better."
Esylana: Esylana frowned deeply, hesitant. To go on without a caravan was very dangerous. But was it more dangerous than travelling with soldiers who, if they saw Zenra for what she was, would either kill her immediately on the spot, or enslave her and deal with her when they got to Glasia. She was jerked out of her reverie by an older man who had approached them and nodded towards his dogsled nearby. "Lookin' to go to Glasia? We're headed that way, and I gots room in my sled." He eyed Zenra a moment, but then turned his attention back to Esylana. His beard was grizzled, his look hard and leathery, but it was the sort of look of one who was used to living in this wretched cold and knew what he was doing. "Ah-...well, yes, I mean, we're not sure yet." Esylana stumbled with her words, trying to frantically find a way to stall without making it suspicious that they were there, but not going to Glasia. At least, not with a group. Or maybe with a group. She looked over at Zenra, almost pleading for help with a silent look of her eyes.
VampyrVixen: Giving Esylana a soft glance of her silvery eyes. She smiles even though her face mask. "Hello Us-." Stopping herself as she almost spoke quite clearly in her native tongue, Then she plays up that she had to sneeze with the awkward look over her nose twitching under the fabric before it relaxs. she continues. "Apologizes I suppose I am not use to this weather... nor is my companion here." She then glances at Esylana knowing that if they deny this man, they would surely be kept close on eye with the legionnaires. She then bows her head to the man infront of them with respect. "We appreciate your kind offer of refuge, we would be very happy to accompany you." She says cheerfully. They can always leave when they needed to... right? She gestures for Esylana to follow her lead. She knows she would keep an eye on the man, and in the city she would watch out for them and her own identity being revealed. Zenra would protect them both and that is what the hand gesture would say to her.
Esylana: "Yes, thank you. Ah, do you have room for three?" she asked the man, nodding. He looked surprised a moment, looking around for this third person, when Esylana would look back and nod to Crystal, who was just coming off the ferry with her things. They had almost gotten lost and it had been a scary moment of trying to find her belongings. No one wanted to be in this frozen wasteland without any supplies, and that was almost what had happened here. But now she was on her way, the ferryman shrugging with a sheepish grin before turning to help his fellow mates in preparing the boat for the trip back. "Ah...yeah, sure. All of you will have to bundle into the sled," the old man says gruffly, before holding his hand out. "It'll be 5 gold per head." It made Esylana wince. It was a steep price. But she was prepared to pay it as she reached for the money.
CrystalOnyx: -Crystal rushed off the ferry with a large knapsack, her boots made loud thuds on the wood as she rushed over to the other two. She almost tripped from the bridge to the main land, but caught herself as she stumbled up behind the women. She placed a hand on Esylana's shoulder as she placed her 5 gold coins into the man's hand.- "You are not paying for me." -She huffed some as she straightened, pulling her cloak around her body more as she felt the coldness of the wind blow up her dress.-
VampyrVixen: She nods appropriately to the man, not a twige of weariness as he says 5 gold, as if she's use to it. She may not of been in the financial side of running her kingdom that was once Golgotha, but she knew it was not cheap. Nor is anything in this world. Zenra doesn't even hesitate too much, she turns making small gesture as Crystal stumbles as if to go and attempt to catch her though she knew she couldn't. She simply stands up straight, waiting for Crstyal to join them. Her ears even though cover by a hood perked up at Crystal's comment. Trying to conceal such an involuntary movement was difficult but hopefully the man didn't see it through the thick woven fabric. Money wasn't an issue for Zenra even now and it seems like Crystal doesn't enjoy relying on others. She takes this as a mental note before placing 10 gold in the man's hand for her and Esylana. She doesn't know how much the woman carried, she knew at least that she wouldn't have to worry about the price being an issue. "I suppose we can head off."
Esylana: She fought back the urge to grumble at the generosity, and chose instead to nod with thanks to Zenra. The man, for his part, grunted his approval as he jerked his head to the sled. "Load on in ,then. Keeping more weight on the back is better, especially goin' down slopes for the dogs. Once you're packed in, try not to move around too much. We'll be heading out within the hour." He left them to go and talk with the caravan leader, giving them a brief moment of privacy before they headed out. "We won't want to go all the way to Glasia if we can help it. By my estimates, it's a three day journey from here to there by caravan, and that's if there's good weather." She pursed her lips worriedly, and then nodded. "It'll probably be around the second day we'll want to try and break off from the group...somehow..."
CrystalOnyx: -She glanced over to the sled and blinked.- "We are riding in that?" -Crystal glanced between the women and soon walked over to the sled. She looked over it and then glanced down at herself.- "Who would be the heaviest?" -She asked all these questions, but soon listened to Eylana's words.- "Will it be a problem to break away from the group?" -She was curious and very excited as the chilly air seemed to fuel her excitement.-
VampyrVixen: She happily nods in thanks to the man as he walks off. Having to hide what is. Not the first time, but it certainly feels harder to accomplish this time around. She breathes a heavy sigh, turning to each of them. "I know we don't wish to go to Glasia but it may be suspicious if we don't. I mean why would three women wander off into this wasteland alone and seemingly without direction?" She would shake her head. "We'll have to see, love. Infiltration is simpler if one goes along with it." Zenra then turns her critical eyes to Crystal. She kind of twitches, glancing down at her physical form. Her thighs thick with leather and mass, were a big reason she would most likely be the heaviest even being the shortest. Though her body is seen to be appealing to many eyes, she feels a bit self-conscious at this realization. She doesn't reply to that, but does to the next. "It could potentially be difficult."
Esylana: Esylana nods quietly. They would just have to wait and see. There would be a time when the caravan broke to make camp. And while the land might look flat, save for the distant peaks to the farthest north, she knew better. Surely there were hidden outcroppings in the stone and ice where the caravan would stop. Or maybe they really would be stopping out in the open air at night. That seemed especially dangerous to her, but she wasn't used to this sort of travel. They had no choice but to trust their guide. The soldiers going with the caravan were starting to round everyone up, and Esylana nodded to the sled. "Best get loaded in then, looks like we're going to be heading out sooner rather than later...uhm...I guess...Zenra, er...then me, and...then you, Crystal?" She blushed violently as she suggested a loading order and then sighed. "If only I'd eaten more cookies and food at camp," she lamented, even as her stomach gave a small grumble at the suggestion.
CrystalOnyx: "I am good with that, you will be the warmest Esylana." -She chuckled some, moving over to the sled. She waited for the both of them to get in before she did. She probably wasn't the smallest, but time was running out. She untied her belt so nothing would poke her or Esylana. She glanced to Zenra with a soft smile.- "Thank you for coming with us, it was pretty difficult for the two of us."
VampyrVixen: She gives Esylana and awkward smile. Yeah she knew she would be first, her curves were immensely difficult to miss even for one that is almost blind. She eyes the sled infront of them questioning a good time. But hearing the crunching snow of legionnaires nearby made her jump right in. She would shift herself in a decent position removing her bow strapped around her for her own and others comfort. She smiles to Crystal happily though lowering her voice for what she was about to say. "Of course, I saw her in need and an old one like me knows all too well how it feels."
Esylana: "I am grateful for all the help I can get," she said with a shiver as a shrill breeze billowed by. She climbed in, snuggling into the furs and trying to draw some warmth, or perhaps provide some, for Zenra, but she quietly suspected that was a lost cause. She shifted to make as much room as possible for Crystal, and the remaining luggage, and it wasn't long before they were all packed in, snug as bugs in rugs. What an odd saying, Esylana mused quietly to herself, before there was a sudden lurch as the old man got on and the caravan started to move. The dogs yapped with eager excitement, and a light snow began to fall as they left the coast-side settlement and headed out into the endless white wasteland that Esylana was desperately hoping they would not end up calling their final resting place. The ride was exciting for all of an hour, before it started to get uncomfortable. There really wasn't move to shift or adjust, and every bump and dip could be felt through the jostling of the sled. At one point, she was almost afraid one of them might fall out as the caravan took a wide turn to skirt outside the edge of a lake. It certainly looked frozen, but she was sure they had their reasons for it. Night approached far faster than she would've expected, and the caravan circled up tightly, with an array of fur tents being erected, and campfires being built. Dinner was not going to be robust that first night, but a cheerful song rose up from the drivers, who were used to this trip and knew how to keep spirits high.
VampyrVixen: Zenra would stretch her body out, saying quietly to Esylana only. "I'm getting too old for this." She jokingly chuckles to help ease the anixety she sensed in Esylana. "I hope I can get away not eating without any questions asked. Alcohol is the only thing I can possibly attempt to keep down without my body completely rejecting it and that's because I trained it that way." She looks to the cheerful beings infront of her, suddenly becoming aware of her own gloomy thoughts of what will happen to them and how they will make it through this as a group. "You should probably eat something though, love."
Esylana: She didn't really need to be told twice, her stomach had been rumbling all day long, but now she looked at Zenra and was thoughtful. "Maybe...you can feed from my wrist when we bed down, or something. It'd be more discreet?" She said, trying to be helpful. She was working her way through a bit of alcohol and jerky, wishing they could have something hot, like stew or tea in this miserable weather. But she didn't complain, at least she could openly eat. "Is there any way to reverse the vampirism?"
VampyrVixen: Her ears perked up understand her hood, though trying to cover up the movement by scratching an area conceal wth the leathery hood. She smiles at the generosity, but is visibly reluctant. She pretends to stroke a bottle of ale in order to claim it as hers, and look like a normal person. "I will be fine, I've gone months without feeding before." That was surely a lie, most vampires can't even go a 2 weeks without it and still be sane. At least she's trained herself well. "Personally I know of ways to cure minor night crawlers but none of their recipes worked on me. I believe because of the being whom gave it to me..." She draws out the last word, not being able to look Esylana in the eye. There was something in her eyes, trauma. Hurt. betrayal. pain. All reflecting on her silvery eyes. It was experience on her face. Her eyes would sudden bleed a salty teear that she quickly try to wipe away with her sleeve.
Esylana: She was slightly surprised at Zenra's response, and she hesitated, reaching out briefly to rest a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, I'm sorry...I didn't mean to bring up painful memories, please don't cry..." She looked around for Crystal, hoping that maybe she would be close by and able to also offer some words of comfort, but instead saw a legionnaire who was watching them briefly. As her eyes met his, he turned his head away, back to his comrades by their fire, a hearty laught from a fellow soldier piercing the air with its rowdy warmth. She took a shakey breath, and murmured, "We'll help you as soon as we get out of here. No more leylines until we're all in tip-top condition," she swore quietly.
VampyrVixen: Zenra would simply look down, she didn't want to make anyone feel bad for her. She shakes her head. "I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to just, crumble. I'm usually better at keeping it together. But sometimes it's not so easy. Even the crunching of the snow and ice in the right places sounds like the cracking bones." She squints and blinks consistently trying to keep herself from letting the water gates flow out. She would look up trying to spot the black haired woman. She sighs. "I just don't want to make it your issue as it is mine to bear." In her words it's obvious it has been years like this. At 300 years old, how long has she truly dealt with the curse of being undead?
Esylana: Esylana shook her head. "Nonsense. You're my friend, and now you're here, and I help my friends. If you were happy with your undeath, it'd be one thing. But you don't want it anymore, so let's fix it. It's gotta be fixable, right?...Hm...maybe it would be easier with the leylines though." Her face lit up suddenly, and she waved Crystal over, having spotted her.
CrystalOnyx: -Crystal returned to the fire as she wa cuddling something in her arms. She soon sat next to Esylana with a wide smile.- "Guess what I got?" -Her smile was almost evil as if she had stole it. She uncovered a large bowl of hot soup with three spoons. It had different meats and vegetables within the hot broth.- "I traded some trinkets for the soup, I hope you guys like it." -She placed the bowl between the three of them. She had no idea what Zenra was, she didn't remember to ask. Crystal had admired Zenra from a far and noticed her different features. The excitement of the adventure had clouded her mind as she tried to stayed warm and pitch in as much as she could.-
VampyrVixen: "I... Suppose..." She says gently, reluctant. She feels all to much like a burden already and quite uncomfortable. "It is.. Very possible to cure such a curse. I mean, there has to be something. If that sadist bastard of a god can give it to me, something should be able to take it away." Her voice would now be filled with anger, possibly even hatred. Flowing through her like fire, and it shows in her silver eyes. Whoever this god was was not exactly the best person. Sadistic he was, and she clearly recalls the nights she was forced to be there with him. She silently remembers the mention from Esylana a month before of elves becoming slaves of pleasure for the Empire... something she never wished to experience, not again. Even though the Legionnaires would likely be more gentle. Either way, she didn't want to think about being bound like cattle again. She looks to Crystal, scratching the back of her ear with her hand. "You guys should enjoy that." Her voice returns to a softened purr as it normally is.
Esylana: "Oh my gosh, where did you find this?" Esylana grabs a spoon and immediately takes a big bite of it, a faint moan of distinct pleasure rising from her with this simple taste of warm goodness. There's a hint that the way to her heart might be through her stomach. She takes another bite, and another, before realizing what she's doing, and blushes, slowing down and nodding. "Thank you, Crystal, this is the best..." And then the guilt, washing over her. She glanced at Zenra, and made a mental note to be insistent later that evening, even if it meant cutting herself open to tempt the woman beside her to eat. They all needed to keep up their strength in this wretched country.
CrystalOnyx: -She smiled as she also took a spoon and placed a few bites into her mouth. She enjoyed the flavor as she glanced over to Zenra.- "You sure you do not want some?" -She grabbed the last spoon and offered it to the woman.- "Oh, some of the men had some cooking further down the caravan." -She answered Esylana, still offering the spoon to the other woman. Her gaze moved between the women.-
VampyrVixen: "Sadly the food you consume will only makw me sick and very weak, as anything I consume directly goes into my veins.. If you know what I mean." She subtlely says, Her eyes soft and genuine. She looks around the caravan shes eyes the rowdy group of legionnaires before meeting glances with one of them, she knew turning away quickly would be suspicious and thus, she simply offered him a small wave before turning back to the women besides her.
Esylana: Esylana stifled a sudden yawn. It was getting late, and fires were being stoked for the night. There would always be people on watch, patrolling and taking shifts through the night to maintain the fires and watch for wild polar beasts that would come in the night and steal away those who camped here if they could. It would be a long night, and an even longer journey. Even now, soldiers were coming around and either sending people to bed, or drafting them for night shifts. One such soldier, a stern looking woman, stopped before the ladies gathered around the fire and barked coldly, "Bed time, don't have time for stragglers in the morning," she waited long enough to make sure they obeyed her orders, before marching down the line to other camps.
CrystalOnyx: -As the soldier came over and barked her orders, Crystal tensed. She took a few more bites of the soup as gave the rest to Esylana. As the soldier left, Crystal had realized what Zenra was meaning. She moved over to a pallet of furs on one side of the fire and laid on her side.- "So, you are a non-human as well?"
VampyrVixen: Zenra critically stares at the barking woman discreetly. She wasn't one to take many orders from others especially having lead others. She simply endures the cold speech of the soldier, she though wonders if she's even relaxed recently. Getting from her seat, she looks over at Crystal with a side smirk through the mask. "I suppose my hoods always been up around you. She leans down for moment, pulling down her mask to reveal her pale grey skin. She would open her mouth with a smile revealing to small fangs. Her eyes analyzing Crystal would glaze over to white, looking as if she had cataracts. She would only show this for a moment before closing her mouth and replacing the mask. "Quite human." Her tone is sarcastic but light hearted. "Let's go find a tent in which to rest." She reaches a hand to each of them to help them up.
Esylana: Esylana took Zenra's hand and stood up, another chill running through her. She stopped at the entrance to their tent briefly, to pull out her spectacles and take a peek. Maybe the leyline was close. But as she looked, she saw nothing. No signs of a dried up leyline, and no other otherworldly beings nearby. She sighed softly, tucking them away and entering the tent to find a place to snuggle in, close to Zenra if she could help it.
CrystalOnyx: -Seeing Zenra's real face she could only give a small smile. This wasn't the first time she encountered a non-human. They were all over the world, even where she used to live. Seeing Zenra's hand, she took it and stood.- "Well at least we get a tent this time." -She chuckled some as she followed them in. It was quite warmer inside, pillows scattered around the circular tent. Crystal untied her cloak and sat down near a few pillows. She pulled her snow covered boots off and placed them close to the wall.-
VampyrVixen: Zenra would happily kick off her hide boots that if she were alive, she would probably have frost bite on her feet. Still she is freezing even so. "Normally I was strip down to rest... I don't believe that will be the case for a while." she would chuckle with a lighthearted tone. She would set leathery knapsack down as well as her bow and twin daggers. She sighs a bit letting herself fall on the ground with the pillows. She kicks off her boots, crappily pushing them away with feet before snuggling up.
Esylana: And so the night would pass faster than expected. Dreams may come, or go, there might be tossing, there might be turning, and in it all, Esylana did take time to make a final offer to Zenra to feed, insisting that they all keep their strength up. What was a little blood, after all? Morning would come too fast, perhaps, though, for in the end there was never enough time to rest. Fires were put out after tents were dismantled and repacked, and soon the caravan was on the move again. There was no snowfall on this day. But the glare from the sun overhead was nearly blinding, and they would find themselves quite grateful for the hoods. Esylana snuggled into her own hood, and snoozed where she could, trying not to let her legs cramp up, when the caravan would briefly come to a stop. "Don't worry ladies, just a small detour consideration," their driver said from behind, peering out over the landscape. There was a distant rumble, followed by a roar. "What is that?" Esylana called back, to which the driver replied, grimly, "Snow worms. Much like their cousins to the south, the sand worms, but prefering ice and snow to sand. Think they have a liking for flesh too, but we never stick around long enough to find out."
CrystalOnyx: -Crystal shifted around and yawned as it was too early. The sun blinded her as it shined off the snow. She listened to the words of the driver and blinked.- "Snow worms?" -She glanced back at Esylana a bit worried.- "Are you sure we are safe?" -She chewed on her cheek as she watched the other people around them.-
VampyrVixen: Zenra would be sitting quite close to them, even being in the back again. She loomed over both of them like a silent guardian especially with having to be heavy concealed at all times. She doesn't seem thrown off by the mention of such creatures. In fact, quite the opposite. She notices Crystals distaste and places an arm gently around her as a mother would comfort her child. She smiles through her mask. "Hey if they become an issue, I can handle them love."
Esylana: Their driver seems to chuckle to himself at Zenra's words, but he doesn't say much more as the sled starts to move again. The yapping of the sled dogs, the growling of the polar bears, the curt orders of caravan guards has them soon moving away from the worms and on an alternate route. By nightfall, they've made camp again, this time near an outcropping of jagged rocks. It helps against the brash winds and though it may just be a hopeful illusion, it feels like it might be slightly warmer there.
CrystalOnyx: -She glanced back Zenra and gave her a nervous smile. She nustled herself down as they started to move again. As night fell once more, she began to walk around more as the air was more warm. As they ate and were told to go to bed, she rolled over and poked Zenra.- "So, since you are non-human are you older than us? I suppose you have been around for a long time." -She didn't want to sleep yet even though it was probably best. She had more questions but she stuck to asking one a night.-
VampyrVixen: Zenra after a long day was laying amougst the pillows. Crystal and Esylana close to her as warmth was scarce in this land. She feel the awkward poke upon her shoulder, and she promptly turns to face Crystal. The question was something she was use to. Even though it was hard to except the fact that she is 300 years of age. A mid life crisis when even if she was mortal again, would not even be half the life span of typical dark elves. Maybe it's the experiences she had. Anyways, she glances at Crystal with her eyes looking a bit more snowy than usual. "Yeah, centuries in fact." She jokingly roles her eyes. "I am uhm.. well." She gets a little nervous as she says this, as if she doesn't want to admit it. "I am 300 years of age." She would stares for a moment at the curious woman before her, "I suppose if you wish, you can ask more. I do not mind answering simple curiosities." She chuckles to her.
Esylana: Esylana was snuggled in, but it wouldn't be long before she'd get up and sneak to the tent flap while the other two were talking. Spectacles in hand, she peeked outside, to see if there were any soldiers nearby, and then she slipped out with the spectacles on to get a brief look around. "I'll be right back, I just wanna check for the lines..." she called softly to the other two, before creeping away.
CrystalOnyx: -Hearing Esylana speak and then disappear, there was nothing they could really do. Anyway it wasn't that bad just to check around for things. Focusing back on Zenra, her eyes widened.- "Wow, you have lived a long time." -She was hesitant about asking another question, but she soon opened her mouth again.- "So you drink blood to survive right? I was bitten by a half vampire in the past. Do you have cravings for certain people's blood?"
VampyrVixen: She nods Esylana.. hoping she doesn't go to far. But it would be too much for them all to go thus she stays with Crystal. She turns on her side, being quite weary of were her long ear that is face down is being placed as she lays. "I suppose it has been a while." A nervous chuckle exits her soft lips. Yeah she definitely feels old. "Yes but mainly because I simply am use to it. I'm sorry to hear about you being bite, it isn't usually an enjoyabe experience." She cut herself off, knowing full well how she acquired this curse was as bad if not worse. One day she'll rid herself of it, and face that wretched god head on. "Half-Dragon blood is what im use to mostly due to my husband... I try to avoid elves especially, but wood elven blood is one I have liked as well. The worst though is when I do not feed for some time, and I can smell every single drop in people around me if I get too close to them.. I can't wait to cure this curse."
CrystalOnyx: -She gave Zenra an apologetic look as her blue eyes glanced over the features of the woman's face.- "Why would you want to cure it? You live for so long and I am sure you have lots of information you have collected. Then again I have no idea what it is like, so if there is a way to cure it; I would like to help you." -She gave a somewhat kid-like smile to the woman, snuggling the blanket she was under. She was always looking for information and to be able to live that long would just extend her search. Though she was young she wished to gather as much information she could obtain, at least about the things she took interest in; like non-humans for example. She started to glance at the tent flaps as she started to count the minutes that Esylana was gone.-
VampyrVixen: "It's alright go be curious hun... don't feel bad. It's not that I have anything against vampires. In fact, I've helped many women and children who've fallen to the curse be able to live on without bringing harm to others." Ah yes.. The sanctuary. She helped aid a sanctuary that helped out anyone who was more of a victim than some dastardly cruel night crawler. Anyway she could, she did. "I simply just don't enjoy how I acquired my immortality, that is all.." She says gently. Instead of tears rolling down, she would be more dull than anything. Sadness lays in her eyes, but that seems all. She is clearly trying to hold herself together so that she may continue to answer the woman's questions. She brushes a hand across her abdomen where many scars from this cruel being reside. She is happy though that she remains covered in leather or she may have to explain the horrific appearance of them.
Esylana: The tent flap is suddenly brushed aside, and a shivering Esylana returns, shaking off her cloak and pulling the flap shut to keep the warmth in. "Man, it really is frigidly cold at night." She snuggles into the furs by Crystal, her chilled skin briefly brushing Crystal's bare arm. "I think I saw the leyline." She pushes the spectacles away into her satchel, her hand coming up to cover a yawn.
CrystalOnyx: -She nodded to Zenra as she spoke, about to ask if the woman would want to feed from her wrist. But suddenly the tent flaps opened and Esylana appeared. She could almost see Esylana shiver as the woman crawled in behind her. Crystal shivered at the small touch of Esylana's skin on her own.- "Geez woman, you would have caught a sickness from staying out there for so long." -She had turned on her back to look at both of the women.-
VampyrVixen: "You look you're about to turn into a damned ice block." She throws the blanket on her over Esylana. "I'm start to think I'm not the only crazy one here." She chuckles warmly to the two. "Find anything worth mentioning?"
Esylana: She takes a moment to try and get warm, settling into the blankets more thoroughly, before nodding slowly. "Yes, I think I found the leyline. It's off in the distance, really out of place in the otherwise shimmering and sparkling snow. I didn't see any otherworldly creatures near it, like the first time, but it's night, and tomorrow's a new day..."
CrystalOnyx: "That cat was something." -She chuckled softly as she refered back to the cat who was shining like a star, but our eyes could make out a beautiful bell on its tail. They followed the cat to the first leyline where Esylana couldn't see it, she could hear the soft jingle of the bell. She could feel the coldness of Esylana without touching her. She soon turned toward Esylana and huddled close to her so Crystal's body heat would help her get warm.-
VampyrVixen: Zenra would eye Esylana, sitting up from where she layed on the furry pillows. "That's rather strange I suppose... I guess the real question is do we plan to seperate tomorrow? If so How do you think we'll accomplish that without raising suspicions from the guards. They already probably find it weird they've not seen me without a mask on." Zenrs sighs. Hoping she can keep her identity concealed well. Difficult it may be but it is possible. Yes. "I just feel as if they'll find it odd we break off into the wretched wasteland of snow." She looks over at Crystal a raised brow, A cat? "What cat do you speak of ? There's only been sled dogs."
Esylana: "There was a cat...the last time we did this, in Valanice. It had white wings, and a bell on it's tail, but you couldn't see it without the spectacles. I think it was an otherworldly creature..." she felt herself starting to slip off into slumber, and part of her was willing. Tomorrow would be a new day. "Well, if we disappear, we should do it...early in the morning...before the caravan gets ready to set out again..." She turned her head to look at the tent flap, the howling wind picking up outside. Even the shelter of the surrounding rocks and the furs that made up the tent couldn't stop the bite of that wind.
CrystalOnyx: "Let's do it in the morning then, we will have to be sure not to catch the attention of the dogs. I think we can do it though." -She smiled confindently as she covered her mouth while she yawned. After a moment she had closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. Her body curling up into a ball as she protected her core from becoming cold.-
VampyrVixen: "Thats... an interesting image for sure." She nervously laughs as she visualizes this being they have spoken of. She doesn't seem phased, but instead more curious what it really was. She stretchs out on the tent floor. Stacking some pillows on herself as a blanket haven given Esylana her coverage. hopefully her tight leather and fur pillows can provide warmth. The good part of leaving is not feeling awkward have to sit on the back of the sled simply for being of thicker mass on the bottom have. Gladly won't feel awkward about it... until they have to find another caravan to get back. "I hope we can manage to slip undetected. I'm use to jobs like that, but in a snowy environment... it may be a bit difficult especially with how it crunches... I have my hopes however."
Esylana: The morning came with a bitter howl. It was white outside, which while this might have been an obvious description, this was a pure whiteout. Even the next tent over was almost impossible to see, and Esylana cringes away from the tent flap with a loud moan. "Gods blasted..." she muttered, looking back at Zenra. "Well...I guess we don't have to worry about being noticed if we leave...but the question is, would we -survive- if we left?" It was evident now, as fires were being desperately rebuilt closer to the tents and walls fortified with extra clothes and furs, the caravan was grounded until the storm passed. Hopefully it wouldn't last long, but while those who hadn't made this trip before looked nervous, the veterans didn't seem worried, only annoyed.
CrystalOnyx: -Crystal was wrapping a rope around her waist and tied it. She soon walked over to Esylana and wrapped one end around her wait and tied it. Turning to Zenra she did the same thing and smiled.- "Now we will not get separated, can you see the leyline at all?"
VampyrVixen: Zenra would sleepily rub her eyes awkward, annoyed. She has visible sweat beads and appears to have had a bit of issue sleeping with small circles forming under her eyes. She rubs her head as if it hurts terribly. She looks up squinting, "Why are you talking so loud and what the hell is the wind doing?" Sounding like a cranky old woman it seems, she rises up now from her resting place. Her eyes widen at the sight pure white infront of her, Jumping under more than just pillows even if that means being body to body with both of them. "I'm quite sure we would both freeze before we even get there..." She says in a worried ton, feel a bit strange as Crystal did this, only rubbing her head.
Esylana: Esylana looked down at the rope at her waist, stumbling as Zenra made a dive for the covers again. But she pulled back, turned to Crystal and said, "No. I can't see anything. But now's a perfect time to go undetected..." She squinted out into the storm, and it seemed to lighten up only slightly. "But...we should huddle together as much as possible...if we do go..." She seemed uncertain, now.
CrystalOnyx: "We should, this may be the only time we get." -She glanced between the woman as she tied her cloak around her shoulders.- "Maybe we could just find a place close to the leyline and camp there until this passes."
VampyrVixen: Zenra would let out a loud yawn, rubbing her eyes afterwards. "I suppose if you both can handle it. I can feel cold but i can't die from it, easily at least. So I'm more worried for both of your sake." She looks between them, packing up her thinking and replacing her weaponry.
Esylana: It was now or never. And Esylana wasn't one to back down when the going got rough. And so she packed up her belongings, waited for Crystal to do the same, wrapped in as many layers as she could, pulling her heavy scarf up around her nose and her hood over her head, and led the way, spectacles in place. It was so hard to see. And each step took them farther from the safety of the camp, and the rocks. And for a terrifying moment, Esylana thought she'd gone the wrong direction. But then she heard a bell, faint and distant. And another bell, in the same direction. She followed the sound, the teasing tinkle that seemed to lead the way into nothingness, and suddenly, she was there, at the leyline. Standing in the middle of it. It stretched into the blizzard, but she could see it clearly, almost even more so because of the storm. "There it is, there it is!" She called to the others, before following it.
CrystalOnyx: -Crystal followed Esylana as close as she could, the coldness of the air and snow making her skin feel like tiny razors were hitting her skin. She continued on until she hear Esylana yell that she found it. They hurried toward the tower as it almost seemed to blend in with the snow.-
VampyrVixen: She tries to follow closely behind Esylana, though the winds of the storm were dastardly for her even being the way she is. Her was eyes sauit trying to see anything except Crystal and Esylana but seeming to have a bit of trouble. She definitely wishes she replaced her boots and gloves now. No, she misses the robes and cloaks she once wore as the powerful figure she once was, she sighs as she moves along.
Esylana: And quite suddenly...it was over. The storm ceased, the snow was gone, and the wind was utterly still. Below them, for now they could see they stood on the edge of a small valley, was a great set of stone ruins, frozen and eroded by wind and snow and time. But the leyline ended here, and Esylana slipped down, dragging the others with her. The fountain, much like the one in Valanice, was here, and this time she found the symbol faster after brushing away the snow. It was partial, as the other one had been, but this time the piece missing was the one that had been attached to the pedestal in Valanice. The same symbol, the star sign for Air, broken in half, but each half missing in the separate places. "Alright, now we look around and find the other piece." She turned, sifting through the snow and rubble, hoping to find it sooner or later. The wind may have stopped and the storm swirled around this place, not touching it, but the cold was still a very real thing.
CrystalOnyx: "Right." -She was hurrying, she was cold and her toes were becoming numb. Since they were tied at such small length, she could only look couple feet away. She shuffled through the snow and hoped to hit something stone.-
VampyrVixen: Zenra would ease Herself down into the ruins below, in which she was amazed by the beauty that shown within it. The times, the history that laid so quiet here. She smiles under her mask she didn't dare remove, she would glance at the object in question only now seeing half it. Zenra would attempt to walk elsewhere to check amongst the potentially dangerous rubble, but is yanked back by the rope tied between the three. Which results in a annoyed pout by Zenra. She looks about for anything out of place. She then suddenly waves her hand, in hopes to have enough power to summon her familiar to aid in the search but she knows magic can be spread pretty thin.
Esylana: Her familiar does not appear, sadly. There just isn't enough energy. But the movement causes her to brush her feet against a slab of stone, and a piece slips free from it. It has the strange, yet familiar marking on it of the star sign. Esylana smiles at Zenra and nods. "That's it...after this, the leylines for the element of Air will be complete...and we can go home, and get warm," she shivered, wrapping her arms around herself.
VampyrVixen: Zenra is a little frustrated, maybe simply because she performed it in a place between time thus magic more was more accessible and summoning Ledo was easy. She nods to Esylana, bending down to grasp the pieces within her palm tentatively. She smiles, handing them to Esylana, "Let's get out of here." She wraps and arm around Esylanna for comfort and warmth as they and Crystal ascend from the ruins.
Esylana: "Wait, wait..." Esylana tugs, smiling. "We have to place the pieces." She turns and kneels before the pedestal. Before she does so, she hands her spectacles to Zenra. "Watch..." She presses the broken pieces into place on the fountain, and waits. Moments pass, and suddenly there is a brilliant flash of light, and Esylana winces in pain as her left ankle, once again, burns. She looks at it, noting how the symbol of air is finally completed on it. Meanwhile, through the spectacles, Zenra would see the leyline spring to life, the energies of Air billowing and flowing forth to fill the leyline and swirl with powerful energies off into the distance. The wind would pick up again, but this time it feels warm, energized, and alive. Much different than it had before, and in this place, the magic is palpable. Now, if she were to try, she could summon Ledo. "Now...we can go home," Esylana grinned.
VampyrVixen: "W-what...." She simply watches the utter beauty of pure energy rushing through. Her eyes open, wide with amazement and slight confusion as she simply watching the power in the wind blow towards them, instantly warming her like a blanket throwed on top of her. She gently takes the spectacles off, looking like she's having a bit of an existential crisis. But she smiles so brightly after. She nods back to her, "Yes, please."
